Sebastopol and west county
Biohazard cleanup in Sebastopol
Sebastopol has its own police department. Outside city limits, toward the river and the coast, the Sheriff's Office patrols instead. When whichever agency responded has released the home, call this number to reach an independent cleanup company.

Reaching Sebastopol Police
The non-emergency number, 707-829-4400, puts you through to a dispatcher at any hour. The station at 6850 Laguna Park Way closes its lobby late at night and early in the morning, but there is a phone on the wall outside the front doors.
Beyond the city, deputies work from the Sheriff's River Substation in Guerneville, which covers the western county from the coast to Forestville. Non-emergency calls there go through the county dispatch center, 707-565-2121.
Raised floors and old wood
In a wood-frame house with a raised floor, fluids can run between floorboards to the subfloor and the crawl space below. Ask the company how it will check underneath, not only the surface you can see.

When you are ready
Talk to a cleanup company about your home
Describe what happened and which rooms are affected, and say whether the police or the coroner have finished. The company will explain the work and its price.
